British comedian Peter Kay prevents Rihanna from getting the top spot this week in the UK Singles Charts. The charity song, already on its second week at #1 bested the comeback single of Rihanna, ‘Russian Roulette’ from nabbing the elusive #1 spot. Rihanna’s settled at #2.
Lady GaGa also inched her way on having another UK #1 single, ‘Bad Romance’ jumped 2 places to #3 this week making her 4th single to go top 5 in the singles chart since her debut single, ‘Just Dance’ topped the singles early this year.
Last week’s number 2, The X Factor finalists plunged to #5 this week with ‘You Are Not Alone’ while Kesha held on to her #7 position with ‘Tik Tok’.
R&B singer, Alicia Keys nabbed the highest new entry award this week with her new single, ‘Doesn’t Mean Anything’ entering at #8 this week edging fellow new entry Timbaland, Nelly Furtado and SoShy in the #9 spot with ‘Morning After Dark’.
Cheryl Cole’s new single, ‘3 Words’ already is making some noise in the charts as it moved 16 places to #25 from #41 last week.
Meanwhile, in the albums chart Susan Boyle boils off competition to grab her second week at #1. The Scottish songstress has now sold more than 700,000 copies of her album since its release 2 weeks ago. She beat off competition Westlife whose new album ‘Where We Are’ went straight to #2 this week ahead of Take That’s live album at #3.
