News: Christina Aguilera sparks more Lady GaGa troubles?

Christina Aguilera

Christina Aguilera

With Christina Aguilera’s Bionic releasing in a few weeks, there more hype and press around Christina Aguilera. More bad than good. In a recent interview with OUT Magazine, Christina Aguilera was asked about the biggest question of all – Lady GaGa.

She responded:

“Oh the newcomer?” Aguilera chuckles. “I think she is really fun to look at.” Nevertheless, Aguilera has come under fire for aping GaGa’s style and the criticisms have irked her. In 2008, when asked by the Los Angeles Times about the comparison, Aguilera denied all knowledge of GaGa’s existence. “I’m a little under a rock where some things are concerned,” she said then and says again now.

The article went on talking bout GaGa

GaGa writes hooks with nursery rhyme simplicity, easy to hum and hard to forget. Aguilera forgoes hooks for vocal virtuosity, though she admits, “it’s a little more off putting to the general public, because it’s not easy to sing along to”.

GaGa IS her art, she [Lady GaGa] claims. Aguilera says, “I used to think, my art is me, and it’s just not like that. You can’t be that egotistical”.

And after that interview cam out, GaGa fans like Perez Hilton went berserk and dissing Xtina up and down. The last 48 hours after the interview came out, things went very south on Christina.

Then she had to do damage control and posted an official statement on her official site

Dear Fans,

I would like to take a moment to clarify something that has been brought to my attention this morning. It is very easy for comments to be taken out of context and create unnecessary drama-especially between us women. So I would like to tell you all directly so my words can not be misconstrued to sell someone else’s story…I have absolutely nothing against Lady Gaga or any other female artist in this business. I think she is great, and I appreciate any woman fearless enough to go against the norm. She has earned her success with hard work and a clear focus and I have nothing but respect for that.

There is room for all of us on everyone’s iPods.

This is not the first time I have been unfairly pitted against another female artist but it will be the last time I comment on the matter.

“Can’t hold us down….”

With love,

C/X

With this official statement, haters out there are not still buying it Some say, it’s just words. Christina Aguilera is known for feuds. Feuds with Mariah Carey, Mary J, Kelly Osbournes and many more. So i doubt this statement will do any good. So the hate goes on…

  1. I completely 100% believe meant that long letter!

I also believe that meant what she said before also.
I don’t mean anything towards her, but don’t back track. I’m glad she took the upper hand and set the record straight. Even though, Lady Gaga doesn’t respond to stupidity or any negative things. EX: Grace Jones. She said the meanest things about her, and Gaga loved her! i mean said in a lot of interviews how much she was such and inspiration. Grace STILL dissed her, and Gaga moved on seeing out shows in under 2 mins. :)

  2. I never knew of any of the above mentioned feuds. I’m happy to hear a great new song from Christina. I love the video. And yes, there is lots of space on my iPod for those two and a slew of others. It must be annoying to be constantly compared to a relative newcomer, especially with Christina having already established herself. In addition, Christina’s more of a vocalist, while Lady GaGa, from her name to her image, is a performance artist that happens to also sing. But even her material is quite campy. Performance is her vehicle. I feel the music is secondary to the visual impact whereas with Christina, it’s music first. Currently, remixes of “Not Myself Tonight” & “Telephone” are on my most recent playlist.

  3. I think that it was right for her to do her “damage-control” but, I don’t believe that she was all that sincere about it. I mean, yeah so Lady GaGa is fairly new but, for someone who writes “nursery rhyme-simple” songs…Why do other artists ASK for her to write them songs or ask for her input on music?

Sounds to me like Christina is a little green-from-envy; with no reason since I still like her music too. I just wish she’d be better about it and just be humble. Who knows, maybe a song together is what the 2 ladies need :)

Much love to BOTH of them as incredible singers!
