News: Original Sugababes Launching Legal Action Against Sugababes 4.0

Sugababes

Sugababes

A few days ago, there are rumours of Keisha Buchanan suing the current Sugababes in an attempt to stop the band from using its name.

We all know there was a big drama last year where Keisha was asked to leave the band last year and was replaced by Jade Ewen. This means none of the original Sugababes lineup are no more involved with the latest formation.

But apparently, ex-Sugababe Mutya Buena filed this to European Trademark Authority, seeking ownership to the group’s name two months after Kesha got the boot. Things turned around yesterday, when the two other ex-members, Keisha and Siobhan Donaghy were added into the suit.

Since “Sugababes” were never trademarked, there are chances that the original trio would win the case and insiders thinks so too. If they do, they can use the name for themselves (if they reform). And this means the new Sugababes lineup would have to themselves renamed and rebranded!

Ohordy! I can’t wait to know where this would go! Don’t we all love the drama?

Mutya, Keisha …with Heidi is my favorite group of girls.
I don’t care much for Siobhan or Jade. Although Amelle’s ok.

Sugababes 1.0 – Keisha, Mutya and Siobhan (2/5 stars)
Sugababes 2.0 – Keisha, Mutya and Heidi (5/5 stars)
Sugababes 3.0 – Keisha, Heidi and Amelle (4/5 stars)
Sugababes 4.0 – Heidi, Amelle and Jade (3/5 stars)
