News: Britney Spears To Team Up With Darkchild

Britney Spears is apparently teaming up with Darkchild in her upcoming album in 2010.

According to sources:

Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins says he’s working with Britney Spears on some “very dancey, really up-tempo, aggressive, catchy, and hook friendly” material for her next album. “I’m trying some new things [with Spears] … I’ve always worked with Britney and I love working with her,” Jerkins told Rap-Up TV last week at Interscope Geffen A&M’s Creme of the Crop dinner in Los Angeles. “I’m try to reinvent her and reinvent myself with her project.” Despite the pop stars’s rocky year, Dark Child stresses her professionalism. “She’s always professional.” He adds that while some artists take a long time to record a song, during a recent studio session, “[Britney] walked in at 8:30 and was out by 10:30.” “It’s about to be her time again.”

Jerkins has also confirmed this piece of news on his Twitter page

So they’re working on something that’ll be more upbeat and dancey than the last two albums? This should be a treat…

While Overprotected’s Darkchild remix was fun enough and I enjoy his work on Gaga’s ‘Telephone,’ (which I suppose was meant for Britney) I just don’t think they (Brit and Darkchild) are a perfect match. I MUCH preferred Max Martin’s original work on ‘Overprotected’ and feel that ‘Telephone’ really wasn’t a Britney recording. Their styles just seem a bit mismatched, imo, and I would much rather see a whole album of Britney working with Max, Bloodshy and Avant, and Danja.

But, hey, new Britney is new Britney and if it means working with DC will bring some out in 2010, I’m ok with that!
