When i first heard Alicia Keys‘ chorus verse in Jay-Z’s Empire State of Mind, i so wanted Alicia to do a full song around the chorus. And SHE DID! Contrary to previous reports, the part 2 sequel didn’t feature Jay-Z.

I love both versions a lot. But the Alicia version is very stripped down, which gives it more emotion. I so hope she releases this as a single!
