A song about me!!! And a very catchy one too. LOL. Nah, it’s because that my pen name is Rickified, so in short it would be Ricky. But dirrtysean always ‘affectionately’ calls me Licky. LOL. Ricky (Licky). That’s how it came about. =) Tweak a little and you’ll get RICKY!!!

Shontelle revealed that “Licky” will be her first single from her 2nd studio album via her twitter page. This song premiered over on a radio station in the US as it sounds like a radio rip. Her sophomore album is due for a release in mid to late 2010 (August to October).

Now on to the review of this song. The hook is so ADDICTIVE on the first listen that you’ll be singing along. It’s around the same league as Rihanna’s “SOS”. Being an dance/electro/rock/R&B track mashed into one, Shontelle has a potential Number 1 hit on her hands. I guess this song will take over the first half of 2010. Massive hit, given heavy promotion, this song will propel her to superstardom. You can’t deny that this is a superb track, unless you’ve been living away from the mainstream zone.

The chorus/hook goes like this, “L-I licky C-K licky Y, L-I licky C licky all night“. Brilliant stuff, might get annoying after awhile but the charts will definitely get infected by this song. =)
