Single Review: Janet Jackson – Make Me
Janet Jackson is back with a brand new track “Make Me“. This track pays tribute song to Michael’s 1979 single “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough” (at least in the chorus). It’s was released as a free gift from her official web site.
Producer Rodney Jerkins confirmed in an interview on the MTV VMA red carpet that he produced this track.
It’s about dancing. It’s all about her. It’s about [saying], ‘Listen, if you really want to get with me, you gotta make me feel a certain way.’
I gotta feeling, Janet Jackson’s team is milking this from her brother’s death. When all eyes are on the Jackson family. why not release an album?!

Janet’s always been doing her thing. She’s the last person on earth who’d wanna milk on Michael’s passing.
Seriously, if you really study her career, it’s pretty obvious.
Her first 2 albums flopped despite Michael’s helping which was why she departed and with her own terms, released CONTROL and RHYTHM NATION 1814 which, despite Michael’s inevitable influence, were a success due to Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis and Paula Abdul’s, Tina’s and Janet’s Choreography.
Janet’s been trying to get back in the game since the Superbowl 2004 incident. Hey, you know she’s always been in the game, it’s just a different movement of music. Damitajo, 20Y.O and Discipline were different from janet. or the Velvet Rope. Sure, but of all things, this Greatest Hits gift single is just a reminder that Janet knows how to get back to the old school.
MAKE ME is something classic fans would love, a major fire hit if this was the 90s. Even as a fan and lovin’ this, Im pretty sure this song will just be lukewarm but not a hit. Janet knows that too. Can’t wait to drop another Feedback on us that nobody’s gonna let pass.
What a crappy review. Janet was going to release an album and movie no matter what. It has nothing to do with her brother. Sure the lyric’s ‘Don’t stop ’till you get it up’ are similar to MJ’s but it it’s not really a tribute. Janet is an amazing artist who has done fantastic, goundbreaking work in the past. While, I don’t think this song is a smash hit, it definitely has a great vibe and seems like its a great step in the right direction.

Shes been working on the Tyler Perry Project and new album wayy before MJ’s passing.
This of all things just made things more emotional giving her a stronger core of inspiration and issues to spotlight on.
Besides, her music has always been a somewhat nod to Michael’s music.
Her Rhythm Nation 1814 and Control albums had alot of singing aesthetics picked up from Michael.
Then she decided to do the whispery sultry sex image which worked coz her next album, Janet.
became her biggest selling album worldwide. Then came Velvet Rope etc…
ROCK WITH U, her recent single from DISCIPLINE shares the same name as Michael’s disco classic from OFF THE WALL.
Yet, theyre totally different and equally beautiful songs.

Wait, 1 line is sorta similar to her brothers song and now it’s a TRIBUTE song?? That is almost making me laugh at your ignorance. I guess she should just retire now since her brother died beause haters will just say she is milking! I guess the world is over now that Michael died. Get a clue jack ass!

ya I dont hear any michael in here…. what you hear is actually 2 siblings who sound alike… not that uncommon, whats uncommon is how unique the jackson “voice” is.
And I believe janet was working hard on a movie, an album, and a book, right before michael died… so it doesnt seem like shes “milking” but simply moving on with business as scheduled – RIGHTFULLY SO!

Janet would never do that to her brother. She loved him and wishes he was here to see her success with the up coming movie and new music. Give her a break. The movie and music was gonna come out no matter what. She is still a entertainer.
