Shakedown 2 is a compilation album by the Freemasons. It was released on 29 June 2009. “Heartbreak (Make Me A Dancer)” was released as a single a week before the album release, on 22 June 2009. As this is a compilation album, I’m gonna review it in a slightly different manner than how I usually do. It would be more like rants.

The album is like a contiuous DJ set on a 2 CD format. On the tracklist, there are some songs that we are definitely familiar with. Like Beyonce’s “Ring The Alarm“, Kelly Rowland’s “Work“, Kylie’s “The One“, Solange’s “Sandcastle Disco” and the most recent single release, Heartbreak feat. SEB.

Since it’s an album by the Freemasons, every song here is either produced, written or remixed by them. Freemasons is indeed quite established in the dance scene. Listening to Ultra Nate’s “Free” certainly brings back memories. A dance classic.

To me, the highlight of this album is definitely “Heartbreak“. I’ve been proclaiming my love for this song quite abit though. Haha. This album certainly has variety. It’s an album worth getting as all six of Freemasons’ UK chart singles are present here. There are album exclusives if you buy the physical copy too.
