On this final part of the mid-year series, I’m gonna discuss on albums that would be releasing in the latter half of 2009. It’s definitely gonna be better than the first half.

1. Christina Aguilera – Light & Darkness (tentatively September)
The futuristic, electronic route and rumoured to be collaborating with Goldfrapp and Ladytron, I’m definitely eager to hear the end results. I’m a softy for electro music. =)

2. Sophie Ellis-Bextor – Untitled 4th album (tentatively late 2009)
I’ve been waiting for this album since last year and because of her pregnancy, the album is being pushed back. Also going for the electronic/dance route, this is long awaited for me. I just hope it doesn’t get pushed to 2010. =X

3. Booty Luv – Untitled 2nd Studio album (10th August 2009)
The duo from the Hed Kandi label is back!!! They stated that they didn’t want this album to feature any cover versions, and to contain only original songs written mostly by the girls. It would be good if this album sounds mostly like their first single, “Say It“.

4. Shakira – Untitled (tentatively 25th September 2009)
The comeback album of Shakira, her first in 4 years. I wonder which musical direction would she lean towards, I know it’s generally pop, but nowadays it’s commonly mashed with dance or electro.

5. Mariah Carey – Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel (25th August 2009)
I just wonder if this album would be over hyped, just like her previous one. First single is only so-so. Only time will tell. After all, I do miss her pre-Glitter days stuff.

I wanted to include Sugababes but the only information is that they had already picked their first single. So, most probably it’s either the end of this year or early next year.

JoJo is another. According to sources, the album is fully completed but her label finalizes a new distributing deal. She’s signed to Blackground Records currently.

So, what are you eagerly awaiting for the latter half of 2009???
